The Role.

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Technician – Road Service to join our team at our Toowoomba branch and deliver high-quality on-site service and repair support across a range of forklift and lifting equipment. This hands-on role requires strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while travelling to customer sites. You will play a key role in ensuring equipment is maintained, repaired, and operating safely and efficiently across a variety of environments.

Key Responsibilities.

In this role you will be responsible for the following.

  • Service, repair, and maintain customer forklifts and lifting equipment (up to 7.0T for light equipment and 10.0T+ for heavy equipment) at various on-site locations including trusted, reliable brands like Caterpillar Lift Trucks, Konecranes, and Haulotte.
  • Carry out planned maintenance, inspections, and diagnostic testing to ensure equipment reliability and safety.
  • Perform equipment overhauls, modifications, and assist with new machine assembly as required.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical faults and complete repairs in line with industry standards and best practices.
  • Respond to breakdowns and provide timely mobile service support to minimise equipment downtime.
  • Work across a variety of customer sites, adapting to different environments and operational requirements.
  • Maintain accurate service records and complete all required documentation for each job.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with company procedures and customer expectations.

Qualifications and Experience.

The successful candidate will ideally have the following qualifications and experience.

  • Trade qualification as an Automotive, Mobile Plant Mechanic, or Heavy Diesel Mechanic is essential.
  • Strong experience working with heavy diesel or large-scale mobile equipment.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude with strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with a professional approach.
  • Electrical and hydraulic experience is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as part of daily work requirements.
