The Role.
We are looking for a motivated Rental Support Assistant to join our Perth branch and support the forklift rental department in delivering the high level of service United is known for. This role is a true 50/50 split between office-based administration and hands-on workshop support, assisting with customer enquiries while helping ensure smooth day-to-day rental operations. You will work closely with the Rental Team in a fast-paced environment, combining customer interaction, coordination tasks, and manual handling activities such as lifting and moving equipment within the workshop and yard.

Key Responsibilities.
In this role you will be responsible for the following.
- Assist with incoming calls from customers and internal teams.
- Process and coordinate orders, ensuring accurate and timely dispatch.
- Work closely with transport providers to ensure smooth and efficient deliveries.
- Coordinate the movement of forklifts and equipment in and out of the yard.
- Monitor and manage hire fleet availability to maximise utilisation.
- Support rental operations, including machine allocation and job scheduling.
- Liaise with the workshop to track machine readiness and turnaround times.
- Complete equipment checks and capture condition reports prior to hire.
- Assist customers over the phone and face-to-face, building strong relationships.
- Follow up on purchase orders and outstanding paperwork.
- Support resolution of equipment damages and recovery processes.
- Assist with stock takes, asset tracking, and general inventory control.
- Perform manual handling tasks as required within the yard and workshop.
- Complete day-to-day admin tasks including data entry and reporting.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workspace.
Qualifications and Experience.
The successful candidate will ideally have the following qualifications and experience.
- Highly organised with the ability to juggle multiple tasks.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Experience in logistics, transport, rental, or similar industries is advantageous.
- Confident using computers and learning new systems.
- Strong communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
- Proactive, reliable, and able to take initiative in day-to-day tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a solutions-focused approach.
- Professional and well-presented with a positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow.
- Forklift licence is desirable.
