The Role.
We are seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead our service operations at our Darwin branch and drive high standards of safety, performance, and customer satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership capability, commercial acumen, and the ability to manage a busy service department in a fast-paced environment. Working closely with internal teams, technicians, and branch operations, you will play a key role in ensuring efficient service delivery, maintaining equipment standards, and fostering a positive and productive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities.
In this role you will be responsible for the following.
- Promote and maintain a positive, productive workplace culture aligned with the company’s Code of Conduct within the service department.
- Manage service department personnel, including leave planning, discipline, overtime, and training requirements.
- Ensure rental equipment is supplied in excellent condition and ready for hire as required.
- Plan and schedule retail and internal service work in coordination with branch operations to ensure timely delivery.
- Monitor all service activity to ensure customer expectations are consistently met or exceeded.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organised yard and branch environment in line with company standards.
- Oversee divisional supervisors, including coordination with parts and related service functions.
- Schedule road service technicians and provide technical guidance and support where required.
- Prepare and submit repair quotes, coordinate service bookings, and develop strong customer relationships.
- Contribute to branch meetings and operational forums with constructive input and leadership insight.
Qualifications and Experience.
The successful candidate will ideally have the following qualifications and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role within the machinery or equipment industry.
- Mechanical or electrical trade qualification highly regarded.
- Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage and develop teams effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with both senior management and operational staff.
- Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- High level of initiative, judgement, and analytical problem-solving ability.
- Competent commercial awareness with solid IT and systems skills.
- Positive, proactive “can-do” attitude with a focus on continuous improvement.
