General Hand – Darwin

The Role.

We are looking for a reliable and motivated General Hand to join our team at our Darwin branch and support the duties in the yard and workshop area. This hands-on role will assist and work as part of a team to provide maintenance and trade service support to the branch. The position may be required to undertake general duties as directed, as well as support the overall upkeep and presentation of the yard and workshop area. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential.

Key Responsibilities.

In this role you will be responsible for the following.

• Carry out general labouring duties across the workshop and yard.
• Perform general housekeeping and facilities and maintenance activities.
• Assist trades within the workshop as required.
• Clean and maintain equipment to a high standard.
• Undertake other general hand duties within individual capabilities as needed.
• Inspect all equipment prior to delivery to customers, ensuring quality standards are maintained and customer expectations are exceeded.

Qualifications and Experience.

The successful candidate will ideally have the following qualifications and experience.

• Hold a current driver’s licence.
• Possess a High Risk Forklift Licence.
• Understand the importance of exceeding customer expectations on delivery.
• Mechanical background will be considered an advantage.
• Be computer literate.
• Be a strong team player.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic in day-to-day work.
• Have a solid background in handling equipment.
• Demonstrate honesty and integrity in all daily activities.
• Have good communication and written skills.
