The Role.

We are looking for a proven and self-motivated Business Development Manager to join our forklift sales team at our Brisbane branch and drive growth across a competitive and fast-paced industry. Working with one of the world’s leading brands, Cat Lift Trucks, this role requires strong sales capability, the ability to identify and convert opportunities, and a proactive approach to business development. You will play a key role in expanding market presence and contributing to the ongoing success of the sales team.

Working closely with internal teams, you will help strategically grow the business while delivering exceptional customer outcomes and building long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities.

In this role you will be responsible for the following.

  • Identify and target new business opportunities across key market segments.
  • Leverage existing networks while actively developing and expanding new professional relationships.
  • Conduct detailed and in-depth site appraisals to understand customer needs and requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to add value and deliver tailored solutions to clients.
  • Achieve and exceed set order and sales targets within agreed timeframes.
  • Manage and support both existing client relationships and new business opportunities to drive ongoing growth.

Qualifications and Experience.

The successful candidate will ideally have the following qualifications and experience.

  • Capital Equipment Sales experience highly regarded.
  • Experience in external B2B sales and rental preferred.
  • Proven lead generator who does not “wait for the phone to ring”, with a proactive approach to creating opportunities.
  • Results driven self-motivated “Closer” focused on achieving strong sales outcomes.
  • Keen eye for detail with strong accuracy and follow-through.
  • Well-developed negotiation skills with the ability to manage commercial discussions effectively.
  • Strong relationship building skills with the ability to develop and maintain client partnerships.
  • Experienced and highly motivated individual with a strong track record in sales performance.
  • Possession of strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand business drivers and outcomes.
