The Role

This position is for someone who enjoys a variety of tasks.

The General Hand will assist and work as part of a team to provide maintenance and trade service support to the branch, the position may be required to undertake general duties and/or as directed by the manager.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining yard general tidiness
  • Organising and moving boom/ scissor lifts, telehandlers in yard
  • Equipment Return- check machines for damage/ taking photos
  • Checking Safety Harnesses with register
  • Fuelling machines (on site) 
  • Checking electric machines are fully charged before they go out on hire
  • Assisting truck drivers loading and unloading
  • Meeting and greeting customers on site assisting with pick-ups/ deliveries
  • Pressure cleaning machines in preparation for hire
  • Basic detailing of equipment, making sure decals, spec plates and asset numbers maintained
  • Record keeping (use of computer and tablet)
  • General duties as required or requested by Workshop Supervisor and Service Manager

 

Qualifications / Experience

  • Experience working in a similar role in a workshop or industrial yard setting
  • Physically capable to undertake the requirements of the role (lifting etc)
  • Customer focused attitude with excellent communication skills
  • Proactive approach to work and strong work ethic
  • Intermediate computer skills including using systems to log machinery in and out.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge / Mechanical aptitude 
  • Current drivers licence Licence to Perform High Risk Work (EWP) & Forklift licence (preferred)
